Is this an airline rip-off, or just my paranoia?

Is this a deliberate rationing, whereby they slowly release flights one at a time over months knowing this deliberate restriction causes a stampede effect?

I can't even begin to make sense of this theory.

Monarch and Thomas Cook also flying from gatwick on a saturday.

It's often the case that they drip feed flights and put more on if they are needed, rather than put all the flights on at once and then have half empty plates going out.

And from Stansted and Luton. Plus BA from Gatwick. Plus Turkish airlines if you have any interest in seeing Istanbul before or after Dalaman.

Don't annoy yourself by looking again as they will be much cheaper than that for sure

Which is fine if you're flying with easyjet because you can get a credit for the difference that can be used to pay for luggage and extra legroom seats :)

I always check my booked easyjet flights, waiting for my Barecelona ones to drop below the price I paid, although it's looking unlikely.

For charter flights yes, scheduled flights less likely.

Also, easyjet may have only been allocated those slots so far, others may become available when the charter airlines drop some.

If you have an airline would you sell the seats for £400 each, or £1 ?

    No, scheduled flights.

People constantly claim it's cookies but the airlines generally deny it and not a single person (to my knowledge) has ever managed to demonstrate it.

easyJet will only have put the one flight on sale because, at the moment that's all they plan to operate. Now, they may end up operating more flights LGW-DLM on that day, they may not.

They may have released a reduced schedule to Dalaman for next year, because they felt there was overcapacity this year and didn't make a good enough margin, or had to sell seats too cheaply. As you pointed out Turkey can be an awkward destination and demand can vary year to year based on a multitude of factors.

Conversely, if the flights they have on sale sell out at very good prices I'm sure they may lay on extra flights. Its no conspiracy, easyJet will react to demand as any good business would. When you operate more than 200 aircraft, your first release timetable will never exactly reflect what gets operated.

Booking as early as you did you have paid a premium for getting exactly the flights you wanted and the peace of mind that goes with it. London-Dalaman has a lot of flights, I'd have been tempted to wait and see how prices go, but you had very specific requirements which you now know are sorted.

Then it should be no problem for you to provide an example that everyone in here can go and test for themselves, right?
