Large electrical brands

Can anyone tell me what are the highly regarded kitchen electrical appliances in terms of fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, tumble drier, microwave?
Moving to a new house soon and need to kit out the kitchen, I want to put mid-range+ stuff in but I'm not sure what the 'best' brands are.
Also - is there anywhere you could buy the lot and get a good discount (locally for a pickup - belfats/newtownabbey).
From what I have read, good brands are Neff, Miele, Samsung.
Not so good are: Beko, Hotpoint, Kenwood, Bush.
Thoughts?

Bosch, Miele.
More expensive, but you get what you pay for.0 -
Avoid Samsung 'American style' fridge freezers, a lot of problems with them that are manufacturer faults but Samsung deny knowledge.
Check out Smeg stuff, expensive but worth it as well as previous mentioned Bosch and Miele.
Despite everyone laughing at Hotpoint my old fridge/freezer is 18 years old and still going strong in my sisters houseI am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
I'll be honest and say we've bought three or four Beko appliances over the years and found them to be reliable. That includes fridge/freeze, washing machine and tumble dryer.
We've actually got a Samsung American fridge/freezer at the moment. lol Had it two years without issue. I'd quite prepared to stand my ground with SOGA if anything does go wrong with it.0 -

Our first Samsung American Style FF quit at a month under 5 years old. Luckily we'd went for the extended warranty. Basically it required totally new innards and would have cost £500 to repair.
Having said that, its been going strong since - we left it in the house we rent out - and that was 4 years ago
Second one has been going now for 4 years with no issues.0 -

As you've already said really.
Hotpoint are not the brand they once were. Had endless problems with a top end washer dryer of theirs.
Samsung - good value american style fridge freezers but a question mark over reliability.
Zanussi - we replaced out hotpoint washer dryer with a zanussi washing machine & separate dryer. No problems with them so far.
Samsung microwave. No issues
Samsung TVs. All our TVs are samsungs. No issues.
Oven is Hotpoint - hinge broke when under a year old.
We'd a BEKO dishwasher and it kept dropping off its runners when near full. Very annoying. Replaced it with a Bosch.
Bosch is one i would add to your list actually as a good brand.
Dalzells of Markethill is where i use, but hardly in the greater belfast area
(though they do deliver!)0 -

If that were to happen to me I'd insist upon a repair under SOGA, even if I had to make a reasonable contribution.
Ref your list above: I think most white goods now are like most cars. They're all ok, just finished different or with more features. There are no more bad washing machines just like there are no more bad cars. Unless you count the unknown quantity of Dacia and that wee Indian thing
We've got to the stage where we're using an unbranded dishwasher. The rest of the kitchen is all Samsung and the utility room all Beko.
We're no longer brand conscious although I would still say that Bosch and Miele are the best machines.
When we had a period of six months before we could start work in our house we even bought Currys (dirt cheap) own brand cooker, fridge freezer and a cheap microwave. All of which worked perfectly well until the new kitchen was fitted upon which they were donated to the Vinnies. I wouldn't want to live with such cheap white goods because of the look of them but they certainly did the job ok.0 -
Our Miele washing machine is at least 20 years old. Had one repair about 6 years ago as the locking mechanism failed. Used up to five times a week
My Miele vacuum is 12 years old and still as good as the day I got it ( if looking a tad scruffy, but then I do use it to clean the fire out :rotfl: )
Liebherr is also a great refrigeration brand. If and when my trusty whirlpool every decides to give up, that's what I will be looking at0 -
Any preferred supplies around Belfast area? Can only think of Currys, SR Electrical (sams yer man)...0

It was under extended warranty so didnt cost us a penny, but i take your point.

Yes the mainstream particularly is getting that way.

We'd no issues with the Beko as a unit, other than the runners on the model we had were particularly poor, so when you'd more than half a load in the lower tray it would drop off its runners meaning you'd to unpack, fix, and repack. Replaced it with a Bosch and no problems.
We fitted a Beko at the same time in the granny flat and my wifes folks have had no issues at all though.

Yeah, we've just got into the habit of running samsung TVs and electricals as we like the combination of quality / styling / price. Its not because its a "samsung" as it were.0 -
