Memory not fitting

I have an old Dell D600 laptop that I want to increase the memory off. It has 1GB in 1 slot and 256 MB in the other. It has 2 slots and I was given another 1 GB of memory to replace the 256 MB. However the 1 GB I was given will not fit because the fitting slot does not line up. Pictures of each side…

And a laptop running 24/7 as a printer hub will not be very cost-effective.

It won't be running 24/7 I will just turn it on when I have something to print.

What HP printer model is it?

This has been done to death there is no way to make it work.
