please help with working out if I am owed any holiday pro rata

Hi everyone

I hope I've put this in the right place. Apologies if not!

I was dismissed from my job on the 25th september and I have received my P45 today along with a recalculated 'pay' slip detailing I owe £147 and some pence as I was overpaid for the month which I agree with. The letter didn't detail anything about holiday owing to me, I have no idea how to work out pro rata stuff and would really appreciate the help.

The holiday year runs jan - dec and I got 25 days hols and 8 days for bank hols, my working week was 35 hours.

Did you work from the start of the holiday year or did you start part-way through? How much holiday have you already taken?

Thanks for replying - I had worked there for 7 years so was just a case of me leaving in the back end of the holiday year.

from what i have worked out i had taken 153 hours with 84 booked to use and 8 hours left over free

Does the 153 include any bank holiday?
Do you work Mon-Fri?

245 is the full allowance but the 153 does include some bank hols, xmas and boxing day are included in the hours that were yet to be taken,

i worked 5 days a week but mon, wed, thur fri and sat

If they were yet to be taken then neither are they in your allowance up to your leaving date, nor would they be owing.
Need to check how many bank hols were there to 25th Sept to calculate the allowance to 25th Sept.

245 is the full allowance?
If the shifts are 7 hours shift, then (35 hrs a week/5 working days)
25x7= 175 hrs
And
8x7= 56 hrs... (for full year)
Total 231 hours.
Have I missed something?

oh I had bought 2 days holiday!!!! bringing the total from 231 to 245

When you bought them, did you pay for them in one go or is the cost spread over the year?
That can make it a messy calculation.. because you wouldn't have paid for all of it yet.
