A fine example of a newbie using the FAQs and Guides provided here and helping themselves to a positive result. If only more people were so self-reliant.0

At the risk of raising an old thread, quickly resurrecting for internet search engines to help others. I got a PCN from Premier Park about the Halfords, Darlington car park. Had to appeal to POPLA and just found my appeal has been successful on the grounds the signs do not comply with the BPA Code of Practice.0

lol , good one
so the fonts are less than half the size they should be despite the BPA giving parking companies 3 years (until oct2015) for signage to comply with the CoP
we keep telling people that poor signage can be a winner if you do the homework and research, so well done you !!

Well done, tell your friends that if they get a ticket from a scammer, MSE is the place to come.0 -
Hi,
I don't know if anyone will read this, but I had the same situation - exceededicated the time limit as hadn't seen the signs. Appealed to Popla on the grounds that the signs didn't comply with the BPA code of practice, but my appeal was refused. I then complained to Popla, clearly stating how the signs don't comply (only 25mm as opposed to the BPA prescribed 60mm), only to be told that they appreciated my evidence but would not be changing their minds.
Meanwhile Premier Park have started with the letters threatening court action if I don't pay £100.
What now? Do I just have to pay the £100 to get them off my back? My confidence in taking this on is wavering...

best idea is to start your own thread , but yes I saw it and read it
but the choice is yours , you either pay up (which we do not recommend) or you see if PP issues an MCOL within 6 years (threats and debt collector letters mean nothing)
if it goes to court , you can present a properly researched defence to a judge who may just decide you win and claim costs of up to £90
if you think you have a good case (not based on the very poor popla appeal above) , but a properly researched appeal with help from here then its worth letting a judge decide
if you were to lose you should pay promptly , and this could be anything up to say £180
your choice , but I would not pay , only you can decide
but if you need more help , please start a new thread with the red NEW THREAD button at the top left of this parking sub-forum
the point you seem to have missed is this
COMPLAIN TO THE LANDHOLDER or RETAILER and get it cancelled0
