Thanks both for the replies,
Grumbler, my trading account is in £'s and that is what was sent to my UK bank.
Would an intermediary be involved in that?0 -

Because of the way the system works, transfers can only be made between banks that have such a business relationship with one another.
That means the route of your transfer will almost certainly have gone through one or more intermediaries to reach it's ultimate destination.0 -
Thanks for the reply.
My Broker replied and typed that their bank charged me £15.
They originally told me it would be 20 AUD so they overcharged me.
Still waiting to hear from Halifax, twitter.0 -
The cost will most likely be at the Aussie side they tend to be less upfront with charges and price services higher than British banks. Thanks for the reply.

My broker has sent me the transfer report, they charged me £15.
I tweeted my bank and they say the charges for receiving the funds would/should have been £7.
I can't check it as in my account it only shows the amount deposited.
So it is a mystery who took the other £8.
Not really bothered but I might chase it when back in the UK next year where I can go into a branch and query it.0
