They have a tiny safety cut out switch on the back, you need to pull it out, find the tiny button and push it - may needto push something into it. It shoud be in your instructions. My old white knight machine used to go off at least once a week, but they all have them. Good as new in no time - don't call an engineer he'll be rubbing his hands together!!
I've looked but can't find this and have also read the instructions, it doesn't mention it. If anyone knows where to find it on the Hotpoint CTD00P i'd be very grateful.
Absolutely gutted about Paul Walker - RIP xx0 -
Engineer has been out & replaced the heater element which was put in in July with a new one. Unfortunately although it allows me to wash clothes it does not heat the water to wash them in & it will still not dry them
Engineer has left behind old element & bag new one came in which has the words "quality assured genuine parts" printed on it What a load of lies.
Phoning up in morning to see what they say this time.Sealed Pot Callenge No 0740 -
I have the same machine and the instruction book says press the red button on the rear of the machine but couldn't find one, the trips are on the heating element panel inside the back panel, replaced the set of two about 8 weeks ago and it's gone again!0

If it's only just out of guarantee you still have statutory consumer rights that say the goods must be fit for purpose - breaking down one day after guarantee ends falls into this category - tell them this and that you want it repaired free-of-charge or you will go to the trading standards officer - and then do so if they won't!"Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience." Anon.0
