Left home at seven to drive to hospital and got back after ten.

DH has had a tray brought up with tea, a mushroom omelette and his meds and should be having a sleep.

Dishwasher is on and having a browse on here before clearing up the kitchen. A la leftover pea soup for lunch and will make shepherd's pie for tonight before taking a letter from the hospital to the GP.

Remember how wiped out yesterday made you and rest!!!!

    Afternoon all :)

    Carolbee- have a great time!
Jackieo- I know you're going stir crazy but stick to the garden for now!

DD test was clear so she had her BCG and I got the expected call. When I went to get her there were others waiting to be collected and some had already gone, so it wasn't to naughty to sneak her home (via McD drive through :rotfl:)

Lovely and sunny with a good wind here, so I've got the towels drying in the garden. Raked the front garden and then the gardeners turned up - I had got my weeks muddled up! Oh well, at least I didn't have to do the back garden.

Sausages for dinner tonight, and DS1 is arriving home for a few days. I'm really pleased cos I miss him loads when he's at uni :)

Have a lovely day all, take care and hugs if you need them xx

Afternoon everyone. Hugs and positive thoughts to everyone who needs them.

I'm back after visiting the Recycled Teenagers which was great, other than the fact that they donated their cold to me. It's an absolute stinker, meaning that I've been wrapped up and/or under the duvet for as much as possible since Saturday night.
I'm between jobs, keeping my ear out for the phone in case I get a call for an interview or a last minute booking. I'm trying to get a grip on sorting out the household detritus, as well as chucking a load of stuff on eB*y. On the plus side, it's meant that I have had a couple of unintentional NSDs.

    Have a good day, everyone.

I did a daft thing yesterday afternoon I decided to take myself for a short walk across to the shops ,just for a breath of fresh air if nothing else (I needed some sqwirty cream for DGS hot chocolate as well ) well I managed it there and back eventually A normal 5 minute trip each way took me over an hour :( and by the time I got back I was wiped out for the rest of the day. Don't think I'll be doing that for a few more days yet I think I over did it a bit and last night felt really rotten.Today I am going to be more sensible and do as I am told and keep resting.
I have a couple of friends coming this morning to visit for a cuppa and a chat so it will be feet up and sitting room for me today. One learns by ones mistakes though and I learnt that trying to do more than I should was silly :o
Still it was nice to get a bit of fresh air all the same.
Baby steps, JackieO.:naughty: It is difficult trying to pace yourself I know (I still haven't got the hang of it, and I've been poorly for years!!) but you must try. Keep in mind, if you venture out, only use a maximum of half your spoons on the way out, keeping the other half for the journey back.;)
I agree with the others though; keep to getting your fresh air in the garden for now, I'm certain one of the grandsons would nip to the shop for you.

It was wet and horrible first thing, so I put the washing on A-frames over the bath; the sun came out mid-morning though, and it was windy, so I bunged it all out on the line, and it's now all dry.:T

Pizza for dins tonight; I've made the base, just got to construct it later. Mr LW diced some onion and grated a dish of cheese last night, so it won't be difficult to do. BM is now on for a loaf.

I need to remove the Jessie nose-art from the back door and patio door, before Jack arrives tomorrow afternoon - must leave a clean "canvas" for him to do his own nose-art.:D

GWS vibes for all who are less than well.

  • I have done three loads of washing this morning while it is dry and windy, (going out to check it in a mo because we have some ominous looking clouds coming in).

Then I peeled, cored and chopped 30lbs of bramley apples  Some are in the freezer, some have been made into fruit leathers with blackberries and blueberries.
There are loads more to pick as well  so some will be made into apple sauce, some will be dehydrated and I will probably make more fruit leather, my freezers are groaning with home grown produce :D

I picked another kg of runners and that is the lot now, so I am going to get DD's BFto take them out this afternoon. DS is at college and I would normally ask him to do it for me.
DD's day off today so she can help as well.

I Also want to do some more pickling and chutney making this weekend. Found a sweet chestnut tree not fat from here, so I would really like to make chestnut jam ala Pam Corbin of River Cottage fame, I have all but one of the river cottage books now I am hoping Santa sneaks it under the tree for me animated-smileys-christmas-478.gif

JackieO you are very naughtyimages?q=tbn:ANd9GcR4XruWL8FImbSJ-68u57upo42CkgE80xsN4T9BZX8VKtJZ1jZe5g now get those feet up xxx

elona I hope DH is getting his rest as well xx

Camelot :T just in time for shopping in NYC, have a fantastic time xx

LW that made me chuckle about the nose art, have you got little books of paw prints of all of your little visitors yet x

Right must go check that washing

    BFN xx

    Afternoon all,

Judi - That style definitely suits her better. It's such a pity she can't appreciate you properly.

JackieO - Glad you've learnt your lesson and are now taking it easy. Naughty girl ;)

Elona - Glad to see your DH is eating a little better.

Carolbee - Have a fab time.

After a very wet start it's been a lovely day here. Got my washing dried, had a walk and 'found' some more apples to keep us going.

DH and DS2 off to Colchester for football tonight so I am undecided about what to have for dinner.

That's a really nice haircut they did for your mum Judy, it looks smart and suits her face. I'm not surprised she was so pleased :)

Not paw prints:D but I do have my "rogues' gallery" - I get a copy of the photo taken of me with the dogs (and Mr LW if he's at home at the time) that gets given to the owners, and I managed to find a photo album in a CS to put them all in. It's nice to look back on past guests, especially the ones who have now crossed Rainbow Bridge.
Of course, I also take loads of pics of the dogs whie they're here, but they tend to just be the dogs, without us in them as well, unless we make a special effort.:o
