Did you see King Arthur's "Round Table" at Winchester? :D

(Yes, yes, I know it's not 'real', but still interesting! :D)

Good morning Pyxis :) I never got to see that, saw Winchester cathedral though which is so regal. Hopefully next time I will see it. We went to Cardiff castle and that gave me my overdose of British history :rotfl:

Wow! Cardiff, too! What did you think of the Welsh accent? Did you understand what people were saying?

It wasn't a case of posters 'not liking' Oduliet.

Some of us found her hard to believe, particularly when she commended 'that nice, sincere Mr.Kyle.' (Jeremy) in her first thread. Do Americans normally watch, even know about, Kyle?

In her second, it appeared that coming to the UK she would be able to meet a royal.

It was very remiss of us not to arrange a meeting with a royal for our DiL .

    The threads were entertaining, anyway.

Yeah, my American DIL loves Kyle - she thinks he is a refined version of Jerry Springer....

And, she loves our royalty more than i ever will

They've got our version of JK over there, and i think he also did some American shows.

Welcome back, Oduilet - hope you continue to like England!

    Wow you saw loads !

I agree with you about the food. US food in general seems to use corn oil in everything sweet and savoury (for which there are economic reasons) and everything is sweeter even veggies.

I've visited close to where you live when I went to Shippensburg to see a concert and although it's pretty it's so different to England in so many ways.

Getting a work visa can be tricky but isn't impossible.

What a wonderful visit Oduliet - you packed it all in and really made the most of it. The UK is such a varied place for a small island and as you say, jammed with history.

More please Oduliet! Its fascinating seeing our own country through your eyes! so much that we take for granted you see as 'special and interesting'. even our bog-standard supermarket tomatoes!
  • Sounds like you went here there and everywhere! :)

What was your trip itinerary? And how long were you here for? (Did i miss that?)
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?
