Electronic Brake - Does it impact resale value?

Depends if the car is under warranty or not, I guess.
VW and Renault ones are pretty rubbish.0 -

I'm on my 1st car with EPB, wouldn't be without it now.0 -
We have an Espace with it
The only problem that I find is that if I drive a car with a handbrake leaver is remembering to set the brake.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
Would an electronic handbrake put you off if you were buying 2nd hand?
For me, yes......
For the average idiot, I seriously doubt they'd even know what one was, let alone the issues they can have.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Got a Passat. It's a pain and I'd prefer a normal handbrake. Some useful times when you can do hill starts more easily but the hassles outweigh it.
Problem is so many cars now have them that trying to avoid one will really restrict choice.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
I keep my cars long term, wouldn't entertain a car with EPB, another pointless toy destined to go expensively wrong.0

thanks for the posts, most seem to be in favour of the old cable hand-brake system.
Will try and avoid Electronic Brakes in future, although I guess when you are hiring a car its pot luck!!!0 -
Hi just hired a Nissan Quas-qai, for 1 week, car comes with an Electronic handbrake. Takes some getting used to. Would an electronic handbrake put you off if you were buying 2nd hand?
I'd be more worried about how to pronounce the name of the car! Is it kwoshkway, kwaskai, cashkay, or something completely different??0 -

If a cashcow has the same EPB as a C4 Picasso, it should have something that resembles an IUD in the tool kit, so when the parking brake fails to release, it will, you can insert said IUD into the correct hole and turn the thing till the cable snaps...parking brake released but now broken, brilliant design.
