Anybody know if there is a charge to have the gas tunred off in the 1st place as a scottish repesentitive , just spoke to on the phone said there would be ;...
You've already had the answer direct from the horse's mouth
Why did you even ask??? Did you read my previous reply I gave you last week?0 -
Ebico does sound interesting ,wondering if such a small company will be around for long .
Depends what you call long.
They've been trading since before the turn of the century and are getting bigger & bigger (based on customer supply accounts)
Energy is actually supplied by one of the big 6, namely SSE who are the supply partners for Ebico. Likewise all bills come from SSE (as does the customer service)0 -
Its a council tennacy so no worries there , Scottish power say they are been forced by Ofgem to charge the Standing charge:)
Have you asked the council for permission to disconnect one of the supplies??? Have they granted that to you in writing?
Ofgem does not dictate any prices the suppliers have to charge. It's a free market
(Ofgem only dictate how the supplier charges, not what is charged. All suppliers have to abide by the same rules.)0 -
Could one just use Simply Switch or Uswitch & hop from supplier to supplier every few months & get cashback for doing so please ?0

Most tariff's have an exit fee, which would wipe out any cashback.
As said above. If you are a tenant, you would likely have to seek written permission to have the gas disconnected as it can cost the landlord (even council) a lot of money to have it reconnected. Sometimes the old supply lines cannot be used, meaning all new pipes would have to be fitted. £££s.
If you're not going to use it, then find a no standing charge tariff (EBICO).0
