Before exchange there is no saying what potential purchasers or sellers will do - both can pull out at any time.

Personally if they have given notice to their landlord they need somewhere to live, so they are risking you pulling out too.

I would say no, but that's not advice, that's just me.

Call their bluff and say you want to complete by 24th October and if they can't do it then the house is going back on the market. The buyers don't need to know that you're leaving the country at the end of the month.

Many FTB have an overlap of rent and mortgage, that's life. I sure as hell wouldn' be paying their rent.

I would be furious and tempted to call their bluff and threaten to pull out.

If they don't budge maybe negotiate you split the cost 50/50 but this is still really unfair - as Pixie says, it's completely normal to have an overlap.

I would say no too, but if they will then pull out and happily go rent somewhere else and you leave the country then you're in the !!!!.

Is it worth the £700 risk? Perhaps say you'll go halfs?

I reckon the purchasers know, and that's why they are doing it.

Also - make sure any money given over goes through your solicitor to ensure they don't pull out keeping your money.

Have contracts been exchanged yet? You only mention they can't complete until then. Make sure they exchange before handing any money over or that you are covered.

Quite possibly. The OP could fib though and say that their plans have changed and that they have plenty of time to find a new buyer.

As you need to move, then for the sake of peace and quiet,i would just agree to pay the £700 if they exchange within 72 hours.

I would then think up some way to get revenge...

The other option is calling their bluff and asking the EA to put the house back on the market.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
