ditto - mines from Waterstones and not here yet (its 12.33) and again, i'll be out... annoyed - i dont even know where the sorting office round here is!! big thumbs down for Waterstones!!
still no HP from waterstones :-( - bought mine from Sainsburys (8.87) - phoned them up - complained that they only have a 0870 number, but they are refunding my 8.99!! - so not all badWillow: I knew it, I knew it, well not in the sense of having the slightest idea, but I knew there was something I didn't know!0 -
mine still hasn't come from asda.0

Huge thumbs down to Tesco.
Pre-ordered, along with 5 other books. All 'in stock' at time of order (aside from Harry Potter obviously).
1pm on Saturday, still no delivery  . Checked with a friend who lives just down the road, and she'd already received her copy.
Called Tesco - first adviser said he guarantees I'll receive it on Monday. I asked to cancel order, as I'd go to shops and buy it on its own, so he passed me through to someone else. Apparently, according to this (far more helpful) person, HP was ready to be delivered, but the other books weren't in stock, so that was holding everything up, and delivery wouldn't be until 30th!!!!
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind that the other books were out of stock, and I realise that Tesco won't split the order to send 1 book by itself......but they could at the very least have sent an email letting me know about the delay so I could go and get HP on Saturday.Lead me not into temptation - I can find it perfectly well all by myself0 -

1 completely destroyed:
Thousands of people have left their devastated villages and fled to the mountains.
2 very shocked and upset:
She was utterly devastated when her husband died.
3. really shocked and extremely heartbroken
She was really devastated when her Harry Potter book did not arrive.0 -
Not about Harry Potter, but ...
A colleague got a cardboard box delivered on Thursday, addressed to the previous occupant, who moved over a year ago.
He called the courier company, and the firm from whom the stuff was ordered. As you can guess, to start with, they didn't listen properly, and thought he was their customer complaining that the order hadn't come.
He can't get anyone to commit to coming to fetch it, as they reckon they delivered it, and have a signature.
By the way, he wasn't at home when it came, and it was left under a bush in the corner of the garden. Imagine what a box of books would look like if he'd been away for a couple of days, and it had stayed out in yesterday's rain.
Amazon and Home Delivery Network
it could be that they didn't update their address book and ordered it without thinking.Nice to save.0 -

I ordered from Waterstones on 30th June for my dad's birthday - there was no mention at the time of guaranteed delivery for the 21st so I didn't expect it to be dispatched until after then. I checked my account at the weekend and the order status was 'to be dispatched from supplier'. He rang yesterday to say his book still hadn't arrived and when I checked online again the order has been cancelled without explanation. Flipping furious. :mad:If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor...0 -
I wanted to go join the midnight party at our Waterstones, but they'd already pre-ordered too many books.
Ordered from Amazon instead, which I did from books 3 to 6 anyway, and it turned up with the regular post. The brown cardboard packaging was soggy and bent, and when I prised it off, I was disappointed to see that the dust cover of my new shiny book was all mangled
Rather than quibble over that though, I started reading the book straight away. I normally hate buying new goods in a less than pristine condition, but it was Harry Potter, so I didn't care. I just wanted to read it asap.
If the book hadn't come though, I would have been gutted, so can sympathise with anyone who had problems on the Saturday.0 -
Just to let everyone know whos waiting for their Harry Potter books --- they are now available in shops.
