There isn't a thread for this new gas supplier so I thought I would make one.
I applied to switch on their website last Tuesday (Sept 30th) and received an email straight away.
Thank you for applying to Zog Energy, the exciting new energy provider in the UK.
You have requested to join one of our competitive tariffs and over the next few weeks we will be working hard to make sure the changeover of supply to *ADDRESS* , happens as smoothly as possible.
Your account number with us is 1,9XX and it will help us greatly if you could include that in emails you may need to send to us.
After we have performed some initial checks, we will write to you to confirm the switch over date and advise you that we will need a meter reading close to that date so you fully benefit from the great ZogEnergy rate.
We will also tell you the amount you will be paying each month by direct debit. This is set so that over a whole year you pay for what you use. We base this on information from you and your previous usage history from the gas network.
We would be sorry if you decided not to switch to Zog, but we do give you the chance to change your mind. You have a cooling off period until 2014-10-14 to change your mind during which we can stop the switchover free of charge. To cancel your switch please email cooloff@zogenergy.com. If you decide to cancel after that, then there is a cancellation fee of £25 + VAT at 20%.
Today (Oct 6th) I have received another email.
Here is an update from Zog Energy about your switch.
Your account number with us is 1,9XX
We have sent your application to switch to your previous supplier and we will be sending you a letter very soon with all the information you need. This will show the amount you will be paying each month based on your expected usage and the date we will start collections.
You still have until 2014-10-14 to change your mind and stay with your previous supply, but we hope that this will not happen and you are happy to be saving money with us.
So far, so good! Let's see what NPower can do to mess it up!
