I echo Masonic's comments in #3 and would like to add that the Icesave a/c comes with a valuable interest rate guarantee as well.
I also like Bradford & Bingley's E-savings. Issue 4 rose to 6.26% AER on 29 July 2007.
Both these accounts are quick and easy to open, provided that you're on the electoral role, and both have good telephone back-up in place.
I have no experience of Sainsbury's saver, but it has a rubbish interest rate guarantee, IMO. Probably still worth considering though, if you bank with the Halifax.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0
