icici-how long to transfer money?

Me and my partner have had our icici accounts open for a few weeks and have successfully made a transfered money in from our linked account, although this did take about 10/14 days this was just for small amount to test everything out. After the rate rise announcments we decided to top these amounts up to ten thousand each so asked each account to transfer in just under ten thousand. Days later the transfer has not been made and we checked on the status of transfer and there is nothing there. What has gone wrong? does anyone have a clue?

I don't have an answer for you, but I have had a similar experience this week. I initiated a transfer for £1,000 from my linked account last weekend. The funds haven't been taken from my account nor is there a record of a transfer in progress on the ICICI website. I'm seriously beginning to consider whether to continue to save with ICICI, despite the table-topping interest rate.0

The transfers should be made 4 working days after being requested, but in my experience they have always taken 8 working days for me, owing to the fact ICICI have always cancelled the direct debit mandate after each transfer they have done and have therefore had to set a new one up each time.
I persisted with ICICI for a long time because its rates were so much higher than the competition. However, now the story is quite different, with Icesave only trailing them by 0.1% (that's only £8 less a year after tax on a balance of £10,000).0 -
I also have an ICICI account and have had no trouble with payments going through. I have found it quicker to send them FROM my linked account to ICICI rather than request transfer from the ICICI account.0

I think it is for a one off transfer it is to be within 8 working days.0

Approx 40-50 transfers in/out of my HI-save account in the past 18 months. All have been initiated on a Monday/Tuesday and received at the other end Wednesday/Thursday.
How exactly have you done the transfer ? By the DD mandate, a BACS transfer using your Bank website or by using the ICICI website. I believe it makes a big differenece.0 -
we have initiated transfers from our icici accounts. There is no record of me ever doing these transactions on the site. I have had 20k sitting in my linked current account making no interest for well over a week now.0

You've found the problem yourself ! Using the ICICI site for transfers IN.
As I said all of my transfers have gone like clockwork.
When transferring IN to ICICI I do it via a SO using my Banks website to send the money. You need to send it to sort code 30-00-81 and add your ICICI account number and a reference if you wish. DO NOT use ICICI's website and the 'Receive Money' option.
When transferring OUT of ICICI I use their own website using the 'Transfer Money' option, then the 'Send Money' option. Your linked account details will automatically appear here so you just need to add the amount and select the day you want to move the money.
Try it, it does work !!0 -
Thanks for that I will give this a try with a small amount.0

I setup a transfer OUT of my icici account on their website, and it has just disappeared without a trace.
I have set it up again, and will see if the same thing happens.
I must say when I have a large amount to put in a savings account I doubt I will put it with icici.

Well true to form, the transfer disappeared again.
I sent them a message and they say my account has been made dormant becuase there has been no activity for 24 months.
If the person had bothered to look, they would note that my account hasn't even been open for 24 months, and there is a direct debit going into the account each month.
Could this company be any more useless.
So thats Ing and ICICI on my shitlist, time to try Icesave and Sainsburys.
Does anyone know if Icesave and Sainsburys customer services use native english speakers with half a brain?
