    Morning all,

Raining here too I do have the wm on the go but it will have to go on the airer, I find this time of year really difficult for drying washing as the heating is not on yet and we dont have a dryer.

Day off for me today and I managed to lay in for a while longer :j. I have a 'man' coming round in a while to collect the leather chair that was my dads, its very battered and bruised and one of the castors has fallen off, it needs some tlc, so I cant wait for it to be done.

Pork belly roast dinner tonight they had it on offer at Mr W so I got a big bit which will do tonight and tomorrow and some for the freezer, actually might invite mum round for dinner tonight too.

Got to ring the vets to get little dog booked in for her boosters so will try and get her in today.

Dandy hope the test comes back negative.x

Hester hope you feel better soon x

    Have good days all xx
  • Good Morning everyone, it's very wet and windy here today, we certainly need the rain for the gardens and it's so much cooler. The worse thing is that it's dark enough to still need lights on indoors, autumn has definately arrived!

He Who Knows and the Lurcha came back from their walk like two drownded ratties and have been dried off, mopped up after and given hot coffee and dry socks. I'm planning a cooking day as I won't be able to get on to the plots today for certain. We lost the outdoor tomato plants to blight so I've picked all the usable fruit and will make chutney with the green ones today too. It all helps make winter food more interesting.

Hope all the poorlies are feeling better and that you all manage to stay dry and warm and have a good day, Lyn xxx.
  • Sorry to hear you are not feeling too well Hester, hope you are feeling better soon. Blow the job, your health is more important.

Wet and raining here too. Awful weather. I had plans to go and visit Mom this morning but it will have to wait. Still, ive got enough stuff to do in the house to keep me busy but I feel a bit guilty though.

Thinking of you JackieO, Molly and Hester I hope your feeling better soon.

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day all.

Wet and windy here and can't seem to get myself started.

Need to leave for hospital at three this afternoon so might make DH his favourite pea soup for lunch and need to assemble a puff pastry sausage wellington ready to bake tonight.

DH had a cheese and tomato omelette earlier so that should keep him going.

Just glad he is able to eat now.

Hugs to Molly, hester and LW

    Morning all,

I am in the middle of cleaning the house and have stopped for a sneaky coffee break. I allow myself to do the top two floors, sit down and then do the kitchen, hall and utility room. Washed the towels this morning but didn't like to chance the weather. Still no rain but looking bleak. I've tumbled some of them and popped the two biggies on the airer.

Glad Jackie O is recovering and hugs to the ones feeling ropey today. DH has had a sore throat and a very annoying tickly cough all weekend and hasn't had much sleep, poor dear...

Fishcakes for tea tonight then off to Yoga.

    Happy Monday :)

Good morning everyone from a wet and windy South Yorkshire. Took an early morning trip to the library to pick up,some study books. Whilst out nipped in LIDL, as we don't have one closer to home. Can't resist the bakery section, and treated myself to a cheese twist and latte macchiato ( I figured that it would be cheaper than Costa). Noticed whilst in there that they had chocolate oranges on offer at £1.49, and so picked one up for DH to go in with his Christmas box - I always get one, it's a bit if tradition.

This evening I am off out for a meal with some old friends - it is 25 years nice we stared our nurse training, and so a few of us are getting together - many if us have not seen each other in 22 years, and so old be interesting. But before that I have to o and have a dental procedure done (cutting in to the gum), which should have happened last week, it the surgery messed the appointments up :(

Well wishes to all those who need them today. Have a good productive day everyone, and stay safe and warm :)

    Afternoon all.

Got up a bit later than intended this morning (kept awake last night by next door's washing machine and the weather). Collected my empty green waste bin from the pavement (my house is set back a goodly way from the pavement) and wheeled it into my front entry.

As the weather was awful I took the car to the supermarket (normally I would walk), I needed milk, sugar, toilet rolls and came out with milk, sugar, toilet rolls, bread, baked beans, beef paste, ginger biscuits, tunnocks caramel wafers, some fresh tomatoes, a bag of red grapes, a pack of sultanas, 2 packs of washing up gloves (got the dearer ones which have longer arms but they were half price) and I made sure I went past the reduced meat fridge. I picked up two packs of organic chicken legs that were vastly reduced - these have now been bagged singly and are in the freezer (the legs were huge so I am likely to get a couple of meals out of each of them). I saw a wonderful rib of beef that had been reduced but alas I could not afford to spend £15 on one lump of meat otherwise I would have bought it.

At least I won't need to buy any loo rolls for 2 months because I got a 24 roll pack.

My heating is on, it is very cold here and it is dark and gloomy (ok it is less dark than this morning but I still need the light on to read).

Feeling meh. Got visitors coming over this afternoon - firstly they were coming at 3.30pm, then 3pm and now 4pm. I am off out at 5.45pm to go to my GP as I have been invited to their patient advisory group.

Should be doing housework but cannot get motivated. I have at least sorted out the insurance for the Friends group - things have been clarified and now I am happy (what is even better is that we don't have to pay anything). I have also created a booking list for the Nordic Walking group.
