POP Telecom - beware!

I recently joined Pop Telecom on their £2.50 unlimited broadband deal. As I live in a high-cost area for broadband, I double-checked that I would still get that rate, which they said I would.
Lo and behold, my internet connection was cut off on Thursday last week, with no warning. Assuming it was a line fault, I contacted Pop only to be told that I should be paying the higher rate of £10.49 a month and that 'someone should have contacted me about it'. I am now stuck with no internet access (other than using a provider paying by the day) until I can change to a new supplier.
They also didn't inform my previous internet provider that the MAC code to transfer me had been used, so until this month my previous suppliers were also still charging me monthly for internet (fortunately my old supplier refunded this).
I just wanted to put this up as a warning to others not to fall into the same trap and check the price, check and check again!

Avoid this company like the plague, they talked my aged mother-in-law into a two year on-line deal for her phone when she has Alzheimer’s and no PC or broadband. They claim she took out a two year deal and that after 18 months she is still liable for the whole of the contract. They also stung her for extra "insurance" at £2 a month and paper billing charges. She's moved to a care home and we are now collecting multiple threatening letters a week !!0

I've had a lot of problems since we moved to Pop Telecom, some technical, but a lot with billing too.
Two large DD payments were taken from my account, for 'call barring', something I hadn't requested. When I finally got hold of them (which took some doing!) they claimed it was necessary because I had a low credit rating, which horrified me,
They agreed to credit my account with the amount (no apology!), and I cancelled the DD, planning to pay via monthly billing until I was sure they could be trusted. Today they called me saying they would be charging me an extra £7.99 a month because I had cancelled the Direct Debit, they denied knowledge of the credit note.
I've truly had enough. I have a year on my contract with them, but I can't wait to be rid of them.0
