No John it's just down to luck at the end of the day. I've been comping since Jan, and have done thousands of comps too.. I have won some nice prizes but nothing earth shattering. If I were doing it as a means of income then it would be well below the minimum wage!
I just see it as a nice fun thing to do whilst watching the box of an evening, and I only enter for things I want to win too as we have enough clutter in the house.
Don't worry about it, enjoy it and who knows.. That's the real buzz for me not knowing if i will be really lucky one day and win a holiday! Thanks to all who post here:beer:0 -
Are you spreading your method of entry ? ie web, Facebook. Twitter, Pinterest .Text, Postal. Local comps Blog etc. and counting those entries as individual comps ?
If you do mag dailies and click to wins every day those 700 entries could be for just a few shared prizes across those sites, even if you do enter them daily.
Also if you don't comp by end date , lots of them take ages to be drawn.
Remember if you aren't in it you can't win it.. Keep at it !
Good luck to you0 -
Hello Its all just Luck at the end of the day but you got to be in it to win it I've been comping since 2007 and won some great things over the years cash and a holiday, last few years wins have been thin on the ground. I think more people comp now. Best thing is just enjoy it enter all you can and maybe the wins will roll in.
I just see this as a hobby i probably devote hours upon hours of entering but the winning is just a bonus. The best thing is dont think about it enter a comp and forget it and if something turns up in your inbox of from the postman happy days.
best of luck happy comping0 -
What's your mum's cats name? Shouldn't really make a difference unless it's something really bad ... and I know what those folk from Renfrew are like
I think the main thing is to not set your expectations too high, I remember when I started and seeing a 60" Richer Sounds TV competition and by the closing date I had pretty much convinced myself that I was going to win it, safe to say I didn't.
Just don't take it too seriously, it is a form of gambling after all so the odds are never in your favour, even 2 small wins is 2 wins better than a lot of people0 -
hey, I'm sure you're doing everything right
Sleepyjones said something that reminded me of me when I first started comping...I too was convinced as soon as I started entering I'd have to make space in the house for all the wins that would OBVIOUSLY be pouring in! lol.
It took me about 2 months before I got my first win a family ticket to a theme park (which I gave to friends as it was school holidays), the very next day I won a Sony Xperia phone but then it was a couple of months before my next win but again it was something I really wanted . So.....
It may seem like an age before you win, but keep entering, enter for the things you'd really like to win and no doubt the wins will roll in at their own speed.
Chin up and here's to winning loads!"The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,

if i had a £1 for everyone that whinges they aren't winning and because they enter loads, they expect to , i'll have about £142
All luck of the draw0 -

i do feel the same though for me i won more when i first began comping about 5 years ago, i was winning on average 4 or 5 things a month then, now i'm lucky if it's 3 things a YEAR, even though i enter more things now as i never used to bother with the Twitter ones, now i do. As someone said, perhaps it's because a lot more people are comping now?2020:Stationary bundle, puzzle book, Tarmac pen, bundle of games , gardening bundle, GIF collectables toy, Mars goodies, La ReDoute bundle, mug set. 2022: Feb: Maltesers biscuits, book0
