Hello fed up of debt, thanks for subscribing

Was it you that has downloaded a spending app? Which one is it and what do you make of it?

Good Things since I last posted:j
    • Payday is tomorrow and we have managed to NOT extend an overdraft
    • Made leftover sausage and dodgy veg and couscous casserole and it was alright
    • Got some decent woopsies tonight (I never seem to do very well with woopsies)
    • Got caught up with some diaries. Lovely to read posts from some people I haven't heard from for a long time
    • Made one batch of pea and ham soup and soaking peas for the next

Bad Things since I last posted :(
    • Just accidently said 'thank you, lady' to my husband because I was distracted by writing this post (he was bringing me a cup of tea) and he's quite cross about it.

Spends - £48 at Asda. Approx £13 on meat, £20 veg, rest on bread, milk, and pulses

:rotfl:That reminded me of the episode of Friends when Monica called Rachel's mum "...young lady....old lady...uh, lady!"

    Good MSE work Banwa :)
    Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
    Mortgage today = £161,690.76
    300 271 payments to go.
    House buyout fund £21,000/£40,000
  • Hi Banwa, yes I downloaded an app called spending tracker on my phone, it is very basic but allows input for shopping, gifts, fuel, travel, entertainment and general with notes.

I have kept it up to date and have found it easy to update as I always have my phone with me :)

Well done on not extending the overdraft ;)

I laughed over the leftover dodgy veg casserole! I love being able to create a meal out of nowhere :D

Ah, that there is a Friends quote for every occasion!

    ( that's a funny noise )

    Hello fed up of debt
Tried to download the app last night, but it turns out if you don't update your phone for 2 years, you have trouble. Apparently I need a i7something or other and I only have i5 something or other.

Good Things since I last posted:j
    • Payday has been and gone and I managed to resist the urge to buy something.
    • Mr B has finally got confirmation of start date for his new job (2 weeks)
    • Managing to be v frugal with the heating, when mr b is at work on nights I just wrap up warm
    • On top of all my jobs, despite feeling below par today.
    • Fixed the broken loo with my Dad, saving us a plumbers call out charge
    • Now convinced I am a master plumber as a result
    • Have the weekend off with Mr B (the challenge will be keeping in budget)

Bad Things since I last posted :(
    • Had to fork out for new parts for the loo
    • Found a flea (well, eldest step son did when he came to stay). Never seen one here before, so not unconvinced he didn't bring it with him (he works on a farm). Hope the frontline combo does the trick if not.
    • I really need to lose some weight. I daren't stand on the scales but I know it's bad. I pledge that I will do this before Monday and set myself a small goal.
I think that's it for the last couple of days.

Spends - £10 cat food, £24 toilet workings, £3 leaving pressie at work

Have had an other idea, I thought I would post before I forgot.

I am going to add 'payments made since payday' to each post. There is a flurry of activity for just after payday. Payday is 21st. Target £821

    So far this month

Good Things since I last posted:j
    • Next door neighbour has just had a baby girl
    • Managed to fix my iron
    • Mr B has got confirmation that he has already done his last shift in his old job. He never complained but I know that will be a huge relief
    • Told Mr B I was going to bleed the radiators, and he went and did it. Appears to be better
    • On top of all my jobs
    • Weighed myself (see below)
    • Fixed the broken loo with my Dad, saving us a plumbers
    • Have been worrying about Mr B's hours being cut but today that is looking really unlikely. Fingers crossed, it would be really bad news for us if they were, as it would be a £4k paycut
    • Mr B has a small job on tonight
    • V pleased with the cheap moisturiser and BB cream

Bad Things since I last posted :(
    • Spent money on light fittings (they were v cheap though)
    • Not a lottery sausage
    • Asked Mr B to have a go at sorting out the trellis/hedge mess in the back garden and what he has actually done is made a huge hole in the hedge and completely destroyed the trellis.
    • 10st 7. Cross with myself.

Spends - £39 - light fittings and repair for iron and a lightshade
£5 on misc spends (emergency chocolate)

    payments now
    50(cc) + 50(cc) + 50(cc) + 100(cc) +109
Annoyingly, if we make extra payments on the barclaycard they minus it OFF the minimum payment. Not sure then if i can increase the standing order to cover the minimum plus some extra or if that would then mean that we didn't make a payment at the right time.
