TGIF!!!! Very much looking forward to this week being over it's been way too stressful on many a level! Busy day tomorrow with a bit of s/e work but Sunday should be uber relaxed.
Want to aim for an NSD today but I'll probably treat myself to a latte to warm me up and get me through the day! Mrs frugalwoods would frown and remind me i shouldn't use such a spend as an emotional "bump" but today I'm convinced I can class it as purely medicinal!! :rotfl: besides surely that god I'm allowed a treat day on a Friday?! No spends planned at all these weekend so should rack up two more NSDs then anyway.
I absolutely hate wishing the day away but sure hope it goes quick today!£1589.94 cc - DFD 31/12/22; £156,737.24 mortgage free target date 1/10/2026; £158,327.18 Total; Starting debt Jan 2019 £393,068; 60% cleared.0 -
Enjoy that latte....after all she's now doing dinners out with Mr FW once a month
Enjoy the break..we do one of those once a year and they are great, we just avoid the 'entertainment'..... say no more!!MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Thanks brizzle, I did enjoy the latte! Good to hear you enjoy those breaks also, were a little apprehensive but will make the best of it whatever I'm sure! Hope you're feeling better too!
Managed an NSD yesterday and on track for today too. Just plodding along this week and very focussed on surviving each day until we get our much.l needed break next weekend!
We should hear back on the final decision on the remortgage at some point today - works out as £800 saving over two years so not bad at all if we get it. Bit miffed though as just seen a cheaper rate in the paper today - cheaper by 0.4%! Oh well I guess that's the way it goes new rates come out everyday!£1589.94 cc - DFD 31/12/22; £156,737.24 mortgage free target date 1/10/2026; £158,327.18 Total; Starting debt Jan 2019 £393,068; 60% cleared.0 -
Another NSD yesterday and 6/7 daily goals achieved so not bad.
We were accepted for the remortgage too so that's now all going through so pleased with that. The downside is to secure the rate we have to pay a hefty arrangement fee and valuation fee meaning next month we won't clear much off the debt at all. But overall we save £600 over the 2 years and have the security of knowing our payments are fixed. Bonus time at the end of march though so fingers crossed that will make a big difference to the debt mountain plus the saving on the mortgage payments will of course get thrown at the mountain so worth it in the long run!£1589.94 cc - DFD 31/12/22; £156,737.24 mortgage free target date 1/10/2026; £158,327.18 Total; Starting debt Jan 2019 £393,068; 60% cleared.0 -
Morning!
NSDs are few and far between this week - partly our fault, partly necessity. We enjoyed a lovely quiet drink in the pub just the two of us and Valentine's Day while DDs we're at after school club, only spent £20; it wasn't planned but was absolutely lovely to be out of the house and out of our "transactional" parent roles - we really enjoyed each other's company.
Yesterday we did achieve an NSD but due to an early work meeting today won't be as have had to pay before school club and bus fare to make it in on time!
Next NSD now won't be until Wednesday next week! We're away this weekend and have the start of our birthdays! Looking forward to getting back to loads of NSDs in a run in march, they really do make a difference in keeping us focussed!£1589.94 cc - DFD 31/12/22; £156,737.24 mortgage free target date 1/10/2026; £158,327.18 Total; Starting debt Jan 2019 £393,068; 60% cleared.0 -

Thanks Allotrope...I've always been good with the ideas and the plans, but as you see sometimes I lose my way with the execution of them:) Although, we are absolutely as determined as we've ever been to get this debt mountain obliterated once and for all this time!
We've enjoyed a lovely little weekend away; the accommodation was comfortable enough and the scenery and beaches absolutely beautiful despite the cold! We will definitely be visiting again! We kept the spends relatively low by taking lunch everywhere with us and eating in every night, but we did enjoy the odd pint and ice cream when the urge arose!
Looking forward to enjoying a chilled birthday tomorrow and marking just one year to go on the countdown.....eeeeeek!£1589.94 cc - DFD 31/12/22; £156,737.24 mortgage free target date 1/10/2026; £158,327.18 Total; Starting debt Jan 2019 £393,068; 60% cleared.0 -

Back to the daily grind and an early start after a wonderful few days off and a really lovely birthday surrounded by all those I hold dearest.
The clock is really ticking now so it's full steam ahead on the debt busting front. March will be a slow one due to the huge mortgage booking fee we will be paying when which will reduce our ability to clear a big lump sum. The savings on the monthly mortgage payment is £110pm though so it is worth it. The rest of this month and all of march will be focussed on just doing our very best one day at a time with the daily goals to maximise what little we'll have left to clear the debt. Really looking forward to April and bonus time though to really bring down the mountain!
In other news an opportunity has arisen at work for a promotion in a different division. I'm beginning to feel the need for a change so this is very timely plus the salary uplift would mean our chances of meeting my 40th birthday deadline would be given a major boost. I'm going to find out a little more about the role before i apply but it does seem a good fit.
Train is now pulling in so I'd better get a shimmy on, ugh, I do hate this time in the mornings :rotfl:£1589.94 cc - DFD 31/12/22; £156,737.24 mortgage free target date 1/10/2026; £158,327.18 Total; Starting debt Jan 2019 £393,068; 60% cleared.0 -
