My greenhouse has arrived. Most of the bits are currently lying flat on the base. At least, I hope they are there and not being blown about. The glass is still mostly at my brother's, and the window and door are in the garage. I need to order 10 more panes of glass, new clips and new rubber seal - no idea how many miles of that to buy! Then I can try putting it up...

    At caravan...

Wind has been awful since this morning.

This afternoon there was dreadful crash on caravan roof... Roof has blown off Landlord's shed in next field, bounced of our shed, destroying it,

Then landed in field just other side of hedge by our living room window. Sure gave the birds on the feeders a shock! :rotfl:

Landlord will come round tomorrow early to begin sorting it all out. OH did go to check the gas cylinders and the hoses off them were OK, which is when he took the picture above of our shed.

Problem is the big shed the roof came off hosts the power stuff for the whole field, so if it rains I'm guessing the power will go off. So far we've had a couple of minor showers. The lights are flickering a bit from time to time, but that might just be down to where the lines come across fields and get caught in trees etc.

Apparently we're getting gusts up to 74 mph, with the average 46 mph. Seems to be more gusts than average! And that huge lump of corrugated steel the other side of the hedge is emitting weird noises when the wind catches it. At least it's down wind of us or we'd have found a B&B!

Heaven only knows how most of the plants on the deck will do. Plus one of our rabbit gates has more or less bit the dust, so the plants in the few low pots will get eaten unless we can repair it. Be glad to pack up and go home, but we can't do that until OH checks the boat in the harbour tomorrow some time.

That's a shame Maggie - Hope it gets sorted tomorrow. I hate the wind - it's a bully.

Blowing a gale here but better in here than in the caravan. I always felt like it was being in a drum when it hailed or was windy.

Just have to see what tomorrow brings. I think it's to peak here about 1 am.

Goodness, maggie, that was close! Is your caravan roof OK?

Can't really claim any great dramas here, although I knew weird stuff was afoot when I saw the odd, orange, partial eclipse-type light at dawn and the dust on the car...

So, whizzed off to Barnstaple early, as they said it would be worse later.... but it wasn't.

Something possibly worse for us is brewing for the weekend, apparently.

Very oddly we had a lovely day today and it stayed dry so got the washing on the line Hurray.

A very large and garish sign appeared up the road advertising a property company. Seems to be connected to Your Move but inviting folks to take out a franchise with them?

Spent ages attempting to get them to remove it - you'd think it was city the way they are carrying on - the arrogance is astounding.

Can't find a little hen who was roosting out - been all over with the torch shining up trees - I think she'll be away.

Full set of photos here, including pic of inside of one of caravan bedrooms with holes in ceiling, and roof being temporarily fixed.

We're hanging on here a bit longer so OH can check boat again after the wind forecast for Saturday. I'll feel much happier once the trailer is delivered and Duck is safely up in the field's boat park. We've been waiting months for this trailer, hopefully delivery will be Nov 4th.

When OH went down to the harbour to check on Duck after Ophelia she was safe enough, except a fishing boat had broken its mooring then dragged its anchor and passed by Duck, so there's blue paint and some dinges along one of the rubbing strakes (a length of wood along each side of the deck at the edge).
