I don't want to obscure it and it can be windy so nothing too tall. On part of the rocks we have primroses.

As you'll have good light, you have more choice than we do. We have a lot of ferns! Just experiment with what you like the look of in the context. Astrantias work for us, but in a Highland environment, I'm not sure....
Brickwork is all done here, but we over-ordered and have a few hundred left.....:o eBay or maybe a future project.... The inside walls will go up much faster, but the floor will have to wait till builder returns from Australia, 6 weeks from now.At least they can measure up for the rest, which will take them 6 weeks to make as well. Warm for winter!
Fay, our hairy cat took badly to the annual jab and refused to come indoors that night. We found her in the hedge and carried her in. She was fine next day.0 -

Our vet has reported it to the manufacturer in case it was something in the batch. I think they were worried we would kick up a fuss, but we are just glad he's ok. I'm glad your cat is too.
Well, dilemma here. Very heavy rain yesterday and our kitchen roof leaked...again. We have had 3 or 4 major repairs done to it and the roofer said last time we really need a new roof. So we need to get quotes. This may mean the patio being postponed to get the roof done first and depending on the quote indefinitely. I'm very upset/annoyed but what can you do? We also went to more paving places yesterday prior to the local flood and were advised to go for limestone if we can and not sandstone. Only 3 limestone colours are available...black is no go as it fades badly in patches, grey looks quite municipal and reminds me of a shopping precinct, and I'm not sure about the yellow. Argh, my head hurts from it all lol.0 -
I'd go for ground cover Lucielle, geraniums, I have a variegated grass that likes it very damp & that would do well. iriss, heathers, St John's Wort, Lucielle.
The cloud is dropping today, so will probably chuck it down.
Three sheep have really rough eyes where they've been rubbing coz of midgies. I've been rubbing various stuff on & giving them anti-bacterial stuff in their eyes, but it's quite nasty. I got some yellow cream that is supposed to ward off the fly & treat the rubbed stuuf - I think it's for horses. I'v e been out doing that again to them. I feel all hauled about as one of the biggest sheep is quite a tussle.0 -
Choile, forgot to say the last 3 days we've seen a fair number of swallows around here in Bwlchtocyn. Not seen them congregating on the wires yet. Will prob be back home when that happens.
We heard the other day that OH's Uncle died (he broke his hip a few weeks back but was back home but then got infection so had to go back to hospital) so we'll have to get home for Funeral.
It'll be 3rd we've attended this summer, and we missed one as it was just after I had to go home for the PIP assessment.0 -
Speaking of broken hips, I spent ages yesterday morning with Horse Woman, who was "having problems with her laptop."
My heart sank, as I knew what I'd find....Yup, an operating system I didn't know well, no wi-fi signal, dismal speed and a track pad that seemed to be dodgy.
When I eventually managed to connect to the Hub, it had lost its password, so we had to set one up, but then I found the slowness extended to the 'net as well.
Then she didn't know who her emails were with:wall:, but I eventually found a G mail account and....hurrah...it had a password! :j
By the time we'd done all this, she'd gone to sleep, so we didn't get an email off to her brother after all. :rotfl:0 -
You're wonderful neighbours Dave.0

Maggie - funny, but there are some swallows about still - not many. I thought they'd all gone as I hadn't seen them after seeing them on the wires. I wonder if some have left? As there isn't many about now, but some.
Sorry to hear of the passing of OH's Uncle. That's a lot of funerals in a short season. I am sorry.
Well, I can't be bothered - must be the weather or just another of those nothing going right days!
Have to agree, I wish Dave was my neighbour.
Gone very dark as if it's going to chuck it down.
Had a go with the sythe, but I musn't be doing it right as I just seemed to be hacking at the reeds. I must get the book out. OH was no better - mind you he shouldn't be doing owt like that.0 -
Not today, 'cos we have DD1 and family here, and as seems to happen when they visit, Sam isn't well. We took him to A&E yesterday and Drs think he has chicken pox, but we're not so sure. What's certain is that he has an ear infection and a very runny nose, so it's lots of medicine and love, 'cos he's quite grumpy with it!
We wanted a rest this weekend....:o:o He doesn't sleep much either. In fact he has lots of 1:1 at nursery because he won't sleep like the others.
Maybe next weekend!0 -
Thanks for all the plant ideas. I'll look into it.
Anybody heard from CTC recently, seems very quiet.
Been setting the stand up ready for the show tomorrow. Having a huge clearout and got some great billy bob bargains on. Fingers crossed we have a good day both business and weatherwise.
Looking into walking the west highland way next year. DD1 is desperate to do it. Me I'm not too sure.
Took Izzy to the poodle parlour yesterday. Was a bit nervous she'd come out looking a bit too neat and tidy but they had done a great job and she looked amazing. 24 hours on still ok but its going to be a work in progress to keep on top of her coat. I took her to the workshop as we had all the show pricing to do. A chap called in and basically said to name our price because he wanted to buy her. Thanks but no thanks.

Spooky thought I would pop in to say a quick hi, and you asked about me yesterday lol..
Been getting nowhere very fast over the last few weeks. But we are in the ranch now. Nowhere near finished, but kitchen is functional, heating plumbed in and working .so we have hot water etc. So live in the house during the day, and sleep in the caravans at night .
Garden has just gone AWOL this year. And looks wise than it has ever been. But now that we are in, and when the weather is dry we can slowly start doing a bit.
Cats love it here, and this week we started leaving them go out. Ugly cat hadn't left the house, and the other 2 are in and out of the window like yo-yos lol..Work to live= not live to work0
