    morning all..

choille... I don't know how you've coped to be honest, constant wet is the pits ! no wonder everything looks dismal BUT lets hope your late summer is on its way to you and will help with the build now.. sounds super... I think choille day 2 will be when your butt is soaking in your new barf ;):D

last night here was rather spectacular ! there was the longest lowest rumbles and then amazing fork lightening over the solent.. didn't rain but really lovely strong breeze whistling through the window all night which cooled the mugginess.

im repatriating some shrubs from mums garden. we heard they[new buyers] are going to put in parking spaces so im removing shrubs in the ornate bed at the front.... oooo and I happen to have spaces for them now the firs have gone ;) will have to dig and manure the ground, maybe build it up a bit ..
right off to work , have a lovely day everyone.

Hi Alfie - Yes, folks are fed up with the weather this year & lack of growth too, but when it comes good, it's spectacularly good.

You may need to alter the PH where the fir trees were as it can be very acidic. Great you are releasing the shrubs into your garden.

Maybe I'm just used to it or something, but when others were grumbling about the heat today, I was quite comfortable. :D

Mind you, it was overcast much of the time and I spent half the day swanning about in the van, collecting food for us and chickens.

Mole Valley had no large tubs of petroleum jelly for chicken legs, so I enquired and was told, "A man came in yesterday and bought our entire stock. He wanted to put them on his nipples at work...."

This was said in all seriousness, so you can guess that my reply of "Whatever turns him on!" went down like a beefburger at a vegan convention.:rotfl:

But never mind that, the chickens need their legs vaselined! :(

    I've been Money Tipped!
Its not uncomfortable out here either, however, I am finding it very hard to stay awake. One of the things my health has difficulties with is coping with changes/ extremes in temperatures, but I'm totally ok with it. Just.....sleeping.

Just been watering the pots but it's now got much darker and some spots of rain are already coming down so we may yet get a thunderstorm.

Decided to replace the sole allium in the big pot with passion flower on the trellis, looks far better.

Just observing the fishes, they don't seem to be reacting to the weather!

Fish reacting in hot muggy weather might be down to 3 things:

    • flies being low or on the water's surface
    • parasites build up in warm weather and irritate the fish
    • small fish near the surface, catching flies, attract larger predatory fish, which then chase the shoals
Your fish don't really have these environmental stimuli. :)

Totally still night and remaining at 20C

OK, so it's the Mail - How posh is YOUR garden?
