Edit: So far, I'm not that impressed with the people I've spoken to. Going above 5kw nominal output means providing ventilation, so I thought
"Put a 100mm tube into the redundant Aga flue, take it out via a hole into the loft space to collect air from there, and then build t'other end into the new fireplace, or even take it direct to the back of the fire, if it has an inlet. No draughts."

There are stunning 'glass box' ones, have you looked at them? We considered them here tbh, I think they are timeless.
For me the main point is the loading issue, get one that loads easily so that you are finding it easy in the winter after some digging in some years time. Or, now if you are medoing nowt.

Hi all.
I have JUST got back from the hospital. Mum had her *biopsy* but they went for getting it all now... poor mum was exhausted and very sick after, blood pressure rose etc... so they decided to keep her overnight ! I then had to go put her guinea pigs to bed as they were in their run ! That was her main concern !!! So I've fell into bed... I'm kernackered. X0 -
