I have never seen any evidence that RTing someone can purposely disqualify them, I cant see how this is even possible.
Rting someone's company based competition retweet - does not UN-Retweet their entry, it simply notifies them you have Rted the same tweet as them - which is a valid RT method.

Rting someones manual "copy and paste" entry method is usually something done by accident - and mostly done by bot users, which makes them stand out.

I have however seen a dodgy looking/bot type account been selected as a winner of a competition this way - they did not RT the original message, but they DID RT a copy and paste of another comper. When I questioned how they were picked by the company - the company DMed me to say the prize had already been claimed and dispatched, and the winner blocked me for highlighting it. :shrug:

It all depends on the promotor, some choose copy and paste entries often, some will not accept copy and paste tweets - and will only pick from those who have Rted a company post - and even if you RT if from a friends wall - the entry is still valid. -

I have won lots of times by Rting friends company RTs - and friends have won RTing the company RTs I have found.

Some people just don't like it though, and they find it rude that you are Rting stuff they have 'found' and even gone as far as accusing people of stealing their wins..

I personally think its better to share. Good luck x
