I came to join the group and realised I've actually been a member all along! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I'm back on MSE picking up the pieces and finally sorting myself out. I've cleared my OD, which was my first step, and my next goal is to get an EF saved up.
I'm going to start with £500 for now, as I have also set up some other saving pots that will cover other areas.
After the EF is filled to £500 will tackle my debts as hard as I can, then come back round and fill the EF up to £1000 and beyond.
So Eyebright #11 slinking back in to report my EF is at £145/5000 -
#313 reporting in! EF is at £60/£1000 :j
EF #313: £5000/£1000, 3-6 Month EFC #50 £5000/£5000 PAYDBX 2021 #34: £7326/£7326
cc1 £0, cc2 £0, cc3 £00 -
I got a chip in my windscreen which looked at risk of cracking, so I withdrew from my EF to pay for it. Which actually makes me really happy for several reasons. Firstly, there was no room in my zero based budget, secondly, not a credit card in sight and thirdly, my EF covered my first emergency! Whoop! Eventually though, I won't count this as an emergency as once my saving pot builds up enough, it will come out of the car maintenance budget.
So depleted fund currently at £175, but will be topped up on paydayhttps://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6086606/debt-free-by-23/p1

Hello, please can I join? I have ditched all cards this year and can now only spend cash. I do have cc debt to clear off them but when cleared they will be closed down. So I need to focus on an emergency budget. I've got £60 already. Been saving £20. This challenge will hopefully keep me focussed.Pay your debts off by Xmas 22 #TBC - £0/15k

Last year was just a really bad year for my finances and January wasn't much better.
I've set myself a better way of working with my money & am going to aim to save at least 10% of my wages each month.
I'm starting my goals in Feb as I didn't get paid much in Jan due to illness in Dec & started a new job so Feb is the month where i get paid normally.
