    Hello,

Please could I join this challenge? I try to save an EF of £1000 continually but something always comes along and wipes me out:(

Anyway, my current EF stands at £340 so it would be fun to join you all and try and reach a target.

    Thanks
    Ellie xx
  • Hi all,

Yay after waiting impatiently all month I've finally been able to make a deposit the day before payday. Been waiting so I could be sure that the money was surplus before depositing. I dug out my savings book to find that the account already contained £5.17 (bonus) and I've deposited £55.00 today so my EF fund currently stands at £60.17 :D

Very impatient to see it growing but just glad to be off the mark now :j

    Welcome Ellie. You are #149.
    Never Knowingly Understood.

    Member #1 of £1,000 challenge - £13.74/ £1000 (that's 1.374%)

    3-6 month EF £0/£3600 (that's 0 days worth)

  • So gutted. Over spent on the CC. Had to pay off using my savings. So the "emergency fund is now at 300 pounds.

    :(
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Thanks for adding me Patman, I look forward to joining in with the challenge;)
  • Just added another £20 to my emergency fund. This now stands at £45 which is not a lot, but I'll get there!

Can I please join in? Although I don't know how I am going to save 1000 I am currently on maternity leave but I'd like to try the challenge, any ideas welcome. I am a relatively new convert to MSE, still not savvy enough:o

I switched bank accounts and got the £125 bonus paid into my account today so added it straight to the EF :j:j:j
    Now standing at £650 :T:T:T:T:T
As of 24th August 2016 total money owed was
    £15,708
  • You have to see the funny side. I deposited my first lot of money for EF fund into an ISA I haven't used since 2013 (due to debt and zero spare cash) a couple of days ago. The payment was returned to my current account today. I called my bank and was told that the Isa is lapsed and would need to be reinstated. To do this I have to go in branch and fill a form in. I suppose it's not a big deal as I will keep the money in my current account and visit branch when I can next Monday.

Will I ever officially start my EF fund? :rotfl:

    Have a good evening all,
