hi thanks all we have now decided to hire a car and pursue this with thompson and abata etc when we get home luckely we did pay on our credit card as well also found this on their FAQ last night

so the way i see it they have messed up its just really shoddy customer service its the last thompson holiday i'll book it would have been nice if they sorted it out before we went but as usual the big company against the small man thanks for all the comments so far though

Did you book a package, or a build your own holiday?...maybe that is where the problem lies if you did a "build your own holiday", everything is extra

we booked a holiday not a byo we didn't choose flights then the hotel it was sold as a holiday and a thomson plus deal at that

Sorry. Whilst in the process of confirming your booking the price has increased by £45

No where can I see it says transfers are or are not included. As its a "package holiday" booking, I think most people would think they were included.
I would refer them to the t&cs MarkyMarkD quoted and take it from there.

Your situation describes exactly how I felt 14 years ago after being consistently ripped by tour opps. I decided thereafter to DIY package my holidays and wrote "half price holidays forever"

As a side note, by submiting her problem Seabreaze has entered the " MSE Dragons Den" Many have submitted problems and not had such supportive comments, due to the combined opinion being the company/airline has acted reasonably or fairly.
It really is a good way of judging whether you have a case or not

I'm not sure that this helps you as you have NOT booked a package holiday but a "build your own". But the bit I quoted from their main FAQs definitely contradicts that - presumably it wasn't updated when they added the "build your own" facility - and it's scarcely obvious that they are excluded.

I would pursue it well before you go on holiday as you are far less likely to resolve matters on your return home. What do you gain by delaying sorting it?

Interesting point. But most of those who don't have a case at all go straight to "Rants" whilst those who are more thoughtful ask in the relevant forum. Maybe that says something?

I think the problem lies with the Thomson website and they may have a blip in their system.

When you do a search for a holiday it is fine until you click on the hotel and flight that you want ie the choose and continue button. Once you have clicked on this button if you look at the blue bar at the top of the web page it changes from Thomson Holiday to Build Your Own Holiday.

Could this be the reason Thomson are now stating you have not booked a holiday and therefore not including a transfer?

i really don't know the point is we were misled to believe we booked a holiday package not a byo even the customer services told me they sold me a package without tranfers because i asked him to explain exactly what a build your own is and he said choosing your flight and hotel seperatley which we did not do

Calpe is lovely. Try carjet for your car hire and don't let this spoil your holiday. Go to Altea market on Tuesday morning, it's great for bargains.
