If I see a product I wish to buy, I don't then decide to look for its origin. Cost n Value for money is all I need to make a purchase. ;)

I think I prefer to buy British if I can, especially with fresh food as it's nice to think it hasn't been sitting in a plane/boat for ages to get here!

Cost is the only factor when I make a purchase.

If British manufacturers cannot match on price, they need to up their game

On big items, buying British isn't always an option. I do however like to support small shops rather than big global companies, and am willing to pay a premium within reason.

For food, I try to buy in season, which means more likely for a British option to be available, and for fresh products, if there is a foreign and a British version on the shelf I will buy the British product, as long as it isn't too expensive.

Fruit and veg can sit around for a long, long time on British soil. Potatoes in particular can sit around for the best part of a year (saw some documentary recently).

    ETA, I don't really care about British/non-British.

I tend to buy on price and quality, but if I buy something and it is made in the UK then I am happy.

I try to purchase goods in the following order:- Local/British/ European/ rest of the world. But like everyone else cost is a factor.
I renovated my house last year and managed to get carpets, Curtain fabrics, paint and most of the building things from Britain. Others were made in Britain from materials grow/ produced abroad. But my kitchen was from Ikea and I don't know were that is from. I thought that my Kenwood hob was British, but was made in Italy, as was the Hotpoint oven and fridge-freezer. It is not as easy as it should be to buy British.

I always look at the country of origin. If there's a local or British option, and it's affordable I buy that, however it's not always possible.
