I have recently received a letter from Treethorpe. What approach was used by you to get the reduced commission offer of 25% rather than 33%? Has anyone now used their services successfully?
Any advice very welcome!

I have re contacted treethorpe as much research and digging of my own has come up with nothing. I still think it might be shares as the asset itself has generated money but also dropped slightly in value.
One thing I noticed in the T & C's is if I have proof of title on the asset I will pay 100% of the past recoverable income. This amount is more than the 25% they are going to charge me for finding the asset in the first place.
So I have a few final questions before giving the go ahead, but believe me I have tried and tried to save myself £800 by doing my own research but now at a dead end.

Just contact them saying the comision is excessive and it will drop...

If it is shares you could try looking on the shareholder registers for power companies and mutualised building societies e.g. Halifax [Lloyds] and Santander.
