Why do retailers/manufcturers make Jeans in even size leg length but ordinary trousers in odd lengths?

    e.g. Jeans 28/30/32/34 ins leg
Trousers/ suits 29/31/33/35 inside leg length.

30" suits me perfectly but depending on manufacturer or cut 29 or 31 is too short or too long.

I thought it was a UK vs US thing. UK use odd numbers and US even numbers. However I have noticed recently that some of the supermarkets are using even numbers for inside leg length but only for jeans.

No, it's nothing to do with that.

In the UK, waist measurements are (usually) in even sizes and leg lengths are (usually) in odd sizes.

Not quite sure how you can relate that to UK/US.

On topic (sort of) it was Primark's move to very shallow pockets that stopped me buying them for 'rough' wear. I'm know I'm not alone in doing that.

They must save a fraction of a penny for each pair sold, and yet can completely lose the custom of anyone who finds the shallower pockets unusable, and would only go into Primark to buy trousers (but possibly pick up a few odd items whilst they were there).
There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.

I find when I buy US brands both the Waist and Leg measurements are even sizes. Whereas up until recently as you say UK brands had even Waist and Odd Leg measurements, however now some things like Jeans have started to have Even leg measurements too.

A small zip may mean they are low rise.

Anything that creates that builders bum look or even worse with women , the expanse of exposed thong ( classy, not) needs to be legislated against :D
If necessary force people to wears trousers up to their armpits so as not to scare the horses.
