Vent : When did the Post Office stop changing bagged coins for notes ?

My assumption is that the OP saves his change (probably in a jar) to help pay for holidays.
I can't say I'd expect the PO to change it back into notes though.0 -

Battered eye-lids? Are you sure you were in the Post Office and not a Chinese restaurant...?0 -

What I though was a bit funny is and I quote "if your account is in credit you can only pay in 5 bags of coins per day but if you are overdrawn you can pay in as many as you like".
I though it a bit weird that if I was overdrawn this somehow changes the size of the vault......
They did take all the bags of coins from me for which I gave them many thanks.:T
It's probably against some or other rule to refuse money when a debt is outstanding.0 -

Bags of coins aren't always legal tender...0 -
You could just open up a account at the PO then job done simples.
What you could have done is enquire at the Post Office as to what the limit is.0 -

That's not relevant as the OP was not trying to use the bags of coins to pay for anything. They were trying to exchange the coins into notes.
Therefore whether or not bags of coins are legal tender makes no difference....0
