No. I didn't state that it would be using a standard cupboard. You assumed that. I said a 'bespoke' solution. That means its bespoke (look it up).

We use 2 (cut to size) floor end panels for the 2 sides of the 'cupboard' and edged plinths for the rail and stiles. Then use a (typically) door from an integrated fridge/freezer housing unit. You don't put a top or bottom on.

I can email you pics of you want.

For a decent carpenter, this is very straight forward.

I know what you said Phil but the OP asked " but when I looked at the clearances that were required it would seem that they would still be too large to fit in a standard kitchen wall unit".

And the answer is that they won't all fit.

And for the benefit of DZG who doesn't seem to like my replies, you actually said "You just need to find a kitchen fitter that will create a bespoke solution, while usin an off the shelf door.", and that is far from a boiler fitting in a standard cabinet which was what the OP wanted to know.

I know and you know that there is always a way around these things, but not many kitchen installers, if you are buying units to have fitted, will be interested in a carpentry install.??

It lies with are you employing an installer or a carpenter? Big difference.

Or of course a decent DIYer could do it.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Any fitter worth their salt will do this in their sleep and not consider it to be 'carpentry', it just part of our job: bringing the phrase 'carpentry' into this discussion only serves to muddy the waters.

OP: this is a straightforward part of fitting, might require a few extra panels as Phil has explained so you don't need the separate services of a carpenter :)

Perfection takes time: don't expect miracles in a day :D
  • not always an option but could fit in a tall larder otherwise as stated a unit needs to be made up
  • We got ours from DIY kitchens too. We went for their 900mm tall wall units which are great, and got a deeper one for the boiler so there was plenty of room. It depends on position but our is on the end of a run/in the corner so having the deeper unit there looks fine and doesn't cause any issues.

I think this is the one we have

Well I didn't say it, I quoted it from Phil as it not only clouds the water, it means he thinks extra skill is required. Can the OP fit his boiler in a standard cabinet, no, it needs tailoring, making bespoke, sharp intake of breath when you tell the guy on site that.
