Hello, hoping you find these replies helpful.
My immediate thought is "be kind to yourself". You have had a huge upset, don't rush into something! Whilst it is natural that you are apprehensive, your reluctance may indicate that you need a bit more healing time. Just think about that - the answer may come to you.
I presume that if you don't leave, you won't have the rental income. But you do have redundancy money.
This is my "take if helpful, leave if not" advice:
I would give yourself a few months of making no decisions (the ski thing can wait until next year)
Sign up to do part-time, agency, casual work etc. to keep your income topped up.
Visit friends, go on short trips, do what you feel like for a few months
See how you feel - in say - the New Year
Good luck!0 -
After discussing this today, Dan says "stop d@king about and book something"
:rotfl:
I say, its not worth regretting the stuff you haven't done.

I absolutely agree with this. You have had a huge life change - redundancy after 20 years with the company!!Hello, hoping you find these replies helpful.

And then a second life change - a break-up.
You are still 'grieving', for your lost life, your lost status, your lost hopes of a partner.
Quite right not to rush into anything you don't feel is right for now. The time will come when it will be right.
Now's the time to 'stand and stare', to potter, to switch off, while still keeping one eye open for opportunities that may come your way.
As Jackyann said, ' Be kind to yourself!'(I just lurve spiders!)

Thanks for your advice. I know I've had some big life changes recently but the issue is ive been here before with my decision making. I think soooo much over things that I feel incredibly stressed about things that should be seen as positive like going on holiday. Almost as soon as I set off it dies down.
The ski season is something I've wanted to do for years and determined to make it happen. If I can somehow control some of my anxiety that would certainly help. As others have pointed out I can always return or go somewhere else if it doesn't work out. Of course that sounds very easy but first I have to make some choices or I will be sitting around here forever and regretting that I didn't go away.0
