People Taking Drugs in communual area
Comments

They're presumably using the location because they think it's a nice quiet place where they're not going to be disturbed. So why not try to change that - not necessarily confront them, but just use the close more, accidentally go to put your rubbish out while they're there, etc. Can lighting be improved? Open windows and make noise so the garden feels more "occupied"?
Also - you may want to rethink your budgeting if you really can't afford an unexpected £100 cost, because these things are going to crop up.0 -

Its Scotland. They have to. Its the law.0 -

The druggies won't care. Do you think they are scared of being caught by the police? They probably know all the officers by name.
Just keep yourself to yourself and move ASAP.
Don't go involving the local press etc. That will just put off any buyers.
Seriously, don't waste any more time trying to sort this problem out.
Just move.
Great plan. Keep yourself to yourself, don't even attempt to get to know your neighbours, totally ignore any community spirit that might already exist, or that has potential to exist. Move away from problems rather than get together with others to try and solve them (or at least in this case move them somewhere else!)
Its no wonder that some areas are left to rot when there are people with your attitude Cautious Optimist!0 -
Thanks for all your replys. There is already dummy CCTV there and I have started to put up lots of notices and I have cleaned up the rest of the hallways (just not that part) I will continue to do all of that.
And as for the reply move as soon as I can. Not that simple, I have just purchased the flat and am in a 2 year fixed mortgage. Also it is extremely difficult to find property in the city I live in.
It is a nice building and I love the flat. It is an area that I have lived in most of my life so know it well.
I am willing to put in the time and effort to get this sorted. I have already spoken to some of the others that live there and they seem like really nice people so I am going to write everyone a letter and see if we can all get together to sort this out.0 -
David,
i have just paid out £20,000 for the flat and this month have my MOT and Road Tax to pay on 1 vehicle and next month I have the same for my other car. I also need to purchase new glasses this month which are £200 hence the no extra money just now!
I am very good at budgeting, but this is the first time in 8 years that I have lived on my own and am just getting used to it!0 -

Good for you. Might be worth seeing if you have a community council in the area too.0 -
Can you not change the lighting in the area?in my local town conveniences the lights are ultra violet to deter shooting up etc.Official MR B fan club, dont go............................0

That is a really good Idea! I did not think about the Ultra Violet Lights! That is maybe something we can have a look into.
It is just such a shame as it is a really nice place and the people that I have met so far seem like really nice people!
I want to make the effort to make this a good home for me, as this is the first place that I have owned on my own!0 -
Just a random idea but I've heard playing classical music can deter trouble makers . Good luck .Decluttering, 20 mins / day Jan 2024 2/20

They only really work if there's no other light e.g. in a windowless toilet, otherwise they can still find a vein. And to any other visitor it's just going to scream "junkie shooting gallery".0
