continuous building contents insurance confusion after renting

Hi, Just a simple question I think and I'll try and explain this correctly! I moved house last year and rented just for 3 months, I had a gap of 4 days for contents insurance and a gap of 3 months for building insurance as I didn't need this as I was renting a place until my house was built and finished. I've had no claims…
