Could you kindly explain to forum posters here on MSE, why Albany Assistance's policy is to do things like this re fake parking fines?

got 2 PE tickets through my door and the hire company (Albany Assistance) took £60 x 2 out of my bank as an administration charge for the tickets.

Seriously what is WRONG with hire companies in the Country as far as not being up to speed with what constitutes a real PCN - clue: it would be from the Council, TFL or Police. As far as private invoices dressed up as 'parking tickets' are concerned, the law changed over two years ago and the BVRLA published advice for Fleet Managers, and they came up with a Memorandum of Understanding with the BPA, over a year ago. Simply setting out, that you can discharge all possible liability for ANY private fake PCN, just by sending the name and address of the driver/hirer. Which isn't exactly news because that's more or less what the POFA Schedule 4 says anyway...

It's not exactly difficult and another clue is in the fact the fake ones don't have the word 'penalty' in them.

What have Albany Assistance done to get up to speed with the 2012 law and the BVRLA advice to just give the driver's details? What is the firm doing about this to protect your own position and that of your customers? NOT by refunding after the odd person complains! Why not stick your necks out and become a reliable firm who can smell a scam when it lands in their in-tray,and NOT just pay a fake PCN because it uses the same initials as a real one?

Only just seen this- I have sent you an email.

I only returned to this thread because I got a letter last week (dated 5th Nov) saying that Albany have contested my chargeback.

They have included a copy of my contract. Should I simply attach a covering letter and proof that my tickets were invalid if albanyassistance on here does not respond ?

You still haven't answered why Albany persists in its ludicrous and ignorant policy towards unenforceable private fake parking tickets.
