Sorry for the ancient thread res, but I just received an email from Wonga saying that they have bought back my loan from the DCA that had been handling it and written it off.

I've wrote an email to wonga asking for a refund on what I paid. I had set up a payment plan that was due to finish in Nov 2014 but ended up borrowing money to lay it off early (end of sept) then this all came out but I had missed it.... If I had waited a week I wouldn't have had to pay it back fingers crossed they do this a gesture of good will. The money would be really useful

Any one who can afford to repay a pay day loan should also be able to save a bit for a rainy day. Thereby avoiding the need for a pay day loan.
