Check your credit report from Equifax, Experian and Call Credit. It's possible you have a default on one of them, which is causing banks to close your accounts/decline you.

As for going into an overdraft at 17, then refusing to pay it back, you need some sharp, to the point, life lessons. You borrowed the money, so you pay it back. It doesn't matter if you're 17 or 70.

The culture of 'blame everyone but myself' is sickening. Grow a pair.

They will never tell you the reason. Do your own research as suggested above.

Ask on Credit File & Ratings board how to get your files without a card.

Re the 'default' see, say, Your credit report explained - Experian (p. 11).

If it's a correct record, the only you can do is to have it changed to 'settled' by paying what you owe to Lloyds and making sure that they report this. That said, this is likely to make very little difference if the only record in your credit history is 'default' (settled or not).

Try to open a savings account with an ATM card? You can have your salary paid to this.

Can the OP even legally default on anything when under 18?

All sounds a bit odd to me

I wonder if it hinges on the way the account became overdrawn in the first place?
