What method did you use, Post Office, Passport office visit etc?0 -
there are no delays at the moment, just standard turnround times. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0

I also received my passport within 5 days:j , albeit a renewal. I do recommend if you are sending your old passport back that you do send it special delivery. At first I was put off by having to spend more money but it did give me peace of mind. It was also returned by special delivery - not sure if this is done automatically or because I sent mine this way. Please note that you do not receive your old passport back straightaway this is returned by normal post a few days later - learnt that this is because your new passport is sent directly from the printers.0

I'll need to renew my passport before the end of the year, do I need new photos or will the old ones left over from 10 years ago do?
And do I need to get anyone to sign them?over 73 but not over the hill.0 -
I did my passport renewal application online which was quick and easy (only a few questions to answer) and made the payment by card but I did then have to print it off, sign it and send it off with my old passport with 2 passport photos but they DO have to be recent ones. Unless your appearance hasn't changed much since your old passport then no they don't have to be signed, the guy at the Post Office said I hadn't changed much so didn't need them signed.
By the way I didn't need the Postmaster to check the form as there was nothing to check, unlike a full passport application.0 -

Yes - You need new photo's
No - Cant use the 10yr old ones
Yes - Need signatures
Ive just renewed my wifes passport & needed two new photo's, both needing signatures from an official of sort.
Filled the forms in myself & sent them off with a 1st class stamp only.
New one arrived just over a week later0
