Lloyds Club current account - opinions?

If you work there, you might just get away without having to endure their truly awful customer "service" (look at their ratings on this site). In any other circumstances, my advice to anyone, having witnessed their free-fall in standards and performance over 20 years is simple: don't - life is just far too short to be with Lloyds.
Typically a person who raise an issue like this is the one who has personal problem which is irrelevant to general customers . It could be such as stunk by the fee because of their own fault. A request for credit card, overdraft, loan, mortgage, current account ,etc has been rejected
I do not know whether the OP belongs to one of this category, bu what I know is that the OP is creating a new ID just to post this message.
I have been banking with Lloyds since five years ago, and can not fault their customer services.0 -
Would a upgrade from a vantage account need another credit search as part of the application.
It shouldn't do - I've never been credit checked for any additional current accounts (or even credit cards) since the initial check for my first account.
Considering (I believe?) they get a monthly feed based on your credit report anyway, there's no logical reason for them to need to do a new search.Do have a question though:
GingerFurBall - How sure are you of that? If that is the case i'd pretty much jump into that bank account straight away.
If your salary is more than £1500 anyway, why does the threshold only needing to be £500 make the slightest difference?0 -

Ok thanks.
A couple of other questions if you can help.
1. If you are refused any current account application ( never have been yet ) does it count as a black mark on your credit file.
2. I am thinking of the First Direct monthly saver, does a savings account require a credit check.
I want to space the applications apart if it does.:T0 -

There is no such thing as a black list or black marks for credit applications. All a lender will see on your credit report is that a request for credit was made. The outcome is not disclosed.2. I am thinking of the First Direct monthly saver, does a savings account require a credit check.
The FD Regular Saver is only available for FD 1st Account holders, so you'll need to apply for a current account and that will require a credit search.0 -
Sweet! Then you can open the Regular Saver through your IB
No credit search involved but you'll need to make an initial deposit and set up a SO from your 1st Account. You'll receive paperwork in the post a couple of days later.

I know a couple of people that work in LBG at they don't have accounts with Lloyds companies. They get their salaries paid into other accounts no problem.0

I think many banks do credit check for additional account and credit cards.
From MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:
- Tesco Bank do credit check for additional current account.
- Santander do credit check for additional credit card
- I remember TSB did credit check for additional current account ..
I agree this is irrational as some people apply additional current accounts immediately one after another, but unfortunately this is the way they work.
Other people could also tell their own PERSONAL EXPERIENCE so we could draw a solid conclusion.callum9999 wrote: »It shouldn't do - I've never been credit checked for any additional current accounts (or even credit cards) since the initial check for my first account.
