There's a few things dampening sentiment at the moment, Hong Kong unrest, Isis bombing and the Ukraine. I see it as a buying opportunity.

What do falling share prices suggest a crisis is looming?

Companies are living breathing entities. That people invest in to make money. Companies are like the Roman Empire , they rise and fall. As nothing stays the same for ever. New kids on the block, new technology etc.

The prices of shares are only extremely loosely coupled to the health of the companies

If we are to believe the things that have come out of the Tory party conference this week, the economy has never looked better and sunny skies are ahead, surely you'd expect the Markets to be on the up.

Guess you missed GO's speech then. There's much that requires still addressing.

The fact that EM forgot there's a deficit suggests that Labour consider it an insignificant matter. That will just resolve itself.

The FTSE100 isn't a vote on the strength of the British economy.

Markets going down is excellent news! I'll be able to buy lots more shares! :)

Markets going up is excellent news! My shares will be worth lots more! :)

Markets staying the same is... well a bit boring. But not really a problem! :)
