He isn't remotely right. What options are suggested on your V62 for example (my wasted time was checking the online V62)?
Terrible thing to happen, especially on the day they dropped gullible from the dictionary.0 -

The OP's car is TC49 = Diesel Car, if it was PLG it would be TC11.
A V62 just asks what the Tax Class is and gives examples, a V149 gives the details of the different Tax Classes.0 -
Good thing he wasn't just filling in a V62 then to get a V5C. Oh hang on, that's exactly what his query was.
Perhaps you can let me know what type of Rover you drive, that will help with the irrelevant paperwork.0 -

The OP's question was 'I need to put the tax class on the V62. Jeep Commander 3.0 CRD
Is it TC49 or "Diesel Car" or both or something else?'
The answer is 'Diesel Car', as TC49 is 'Diesel Car'.
What is irrelevant in the OPs case is mentioning 'Private Light Goods', which does not apply.0 -
I'll give you one final clue. Actually look at a V62, look at the question it asks and the suggestions it gives you. Or don't bother, it will never be an issue for you and the fact that people who actually use the forms and the process actually manage to scrape through on a daily basis.
Keep on googling.0 -

Well on the form I have it says:-
Tax Class: (for example, Private/Light Goods, Petrol Car, Disabled)
So as usual with these forms it doesn't actually list all the options and you have to go searching.0 -

yet those that design the form are stupid, and treat us as if we are stupid too! If you look to the right on the form they need to put the 2-digit code in the boxes before scanning, so it would be a lot easier if they told us to put TC11 or whatever rather than the words. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0
