  • Thanks for the MUA tip. Popped into my local super drug, picked up a fab lipstick and gloss for £1.00 each!! I've been looking for a neutral/natural lipstick and it's fab! Thank you so much! X

If you wear glitter nail varnish it can be difficult to remove. O.P.I has a peel off base coat which really works but is expensive.

Superdrug has a brand called MUA (make up academy) which does a peel off base that costs £2. It is every it as good as O.P.I

Additional benefit - it saves a lot of money on nail varnish remover!

It's good fun. Mine are racing green with Fairy dust top coat and some little butterflies.

Has anyone got any ideas for a dupe of Smashbox primer? I use a lot of it and it's the only thing I've found to stop my face getting really shiny and oily, but at £24 a tube I'm desperate to fine a substitute!

Not a dupe as such, but many mumsnetters highly recommend Lanacane anti chaffing gel (yes, seriously) as the best primer going and it's much cheaper than primers too!

My smashbox primer just ran out and was quite as expensive at £25 so replaced it with MUA flawless skin primer at £5 and I think it's just as good, same texture and consistency. Will be trying a few more of there bits for sure.

Forgot to mention, if you go swimming a lot the peel off base coat can peel off in the pool!
