As I'm sure you are aware, confirmation bias is when people interpret or prioritise information to confirm their own beliefs rather than seek out alternative views or views that contradict their own. It was aimed at the person I quoted, not you.
Colonelsensible responded to your post by saying your advice was sound and friendly because you told the OP what they wanted to hear, i.e. that even though the bank and the ombudsman had rejected their claim, all they had to do was ask for a further review and they wouldn't necessarily need to present any new evidence. Perhaps they were simply trolling (nod to the "inept" posters comment i.e. moneyineptitude)Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Confirmation bias or not we just don't know if the OP can ask for an Ombudsman's decision or not as we don't know if it is an adjudicator etc. Instead of just saying it's dead, poster's are looking for information the simple fact is that they have the right to ask for an ombudsman ruling if they are within the timescales in the adjudicators letter.
Not everyone is a troll just because they don't agree with other posters0 -
