£230 for a new PC versus £40 for the Graphics card

Their PC has a Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz. Still a lot of life in it.

Thats great to hear NiftyDigits :j.

The full model number is Medion PC MT7 Med MT487G.

I have tried logging into the Bois but cannot see where to change to vga as this is the image I can see:

I went into advanced setting but cannot read it enough to be confident what to change.

Do you have any suggestions asto which graphics would suit this system?
That GFX card is fubared mate, look a bit more to the left of the image that Nifty posted to see if you have a blue coloured 15 pin socket that is the same as the one you have on your existing GFX card.

If you do, simply pull the existing GFX card and plug the monitor in to the other blue socket. If you don't, then shell out a few quid and replace the card you currently have.

Thanks so much!! Couldnt read the bios to change settings but went ahead and took out the graphics card and plugged monitor into vga socket. PC is automatically loading to vga mode :j :j

Will now look at replacing graphics card. Dont know what I would do without this website, it certainly is major moneysaving for me this week :j
  • All you have to do now is install the drivers for the onboard GFX card, that's assuming they aren't already installed of course.

You won't have to look very far, the hardware is on your motherboard that you are currently using.
Nifty has simply provided links to the driver for the onboard GFX and motherboard manual.
