Smart phone deal suggestions...

Hi
I have an LG P500 which ive had for about 3 years, so its a total dinosaur as far as smart phones go, and indeed my apps are one-by-one becoming incompatible with it. I have been out of contract for a year now and am paying £27 a month including the orange care insurance.

I want to switch to a more up to date handset and keep my number but not necessary to stay with Orange.

One problem is that I am applying for jobs in Europe and hope to leave the UK soon so I dont want to be tying myself to another 18 month contract which will cost a fortune to cancel when I move.

Any suggestions?

    ...or to a 1-month sim-only contract?
  • Grab a couple of free Sainsbury's sims and you'll have 800 mins or data and texts up to the end of Nvember if you time things right - last chance to order them is today. Short-term but would give you two months free. You can actually order up to at least 9 sims, I believe (so 9x that bundle). I've ordered one today as a back-up and won't activate it until I have to (ore lose it) which will be on 30th October. I will then have 30 days before the bundle expires. There is an excellent thread on page one.
  • Brilliant thanks.

THink I will get a cheap payg phone from sainsburys. THe specs are twice as good as my current phone and for half the price!

What phone is it? Don't rush and compare it to Motorola Moto E/G first.

I've just got my sister the Moto E on Tesco. £7.50 a month (capped at a max of £10) and am really surprised at how much phone you actually get with the Moto E.

It's not as good as my S4, but then it's a hell of a lot cheaper with no upfront cost. Can't believe that the phone came free on such a cheap contract!
  • I went for the Huawei Y330 for £40 with Sainsburys. My friend has one and she is as clumsy as me and says its a tough little phone, which is good. THe specs are fairly basic but Im really not a smart phone addict so I dont need 5MP cameras or massive internal storage etc.
The motorola one does look good though
