Avoid Eyewearbrands- poor customer service and potentially dishonest review tampering

Hi, Well this will be interesting!! I looked at trust pilot and i think there were a few very negative experiences which somehow don't seem to be there any more! (I'm not 100% sure about this as i visited so many sites) There just seems to be positive experiences! I looked at the Ray Ban official site which lists eyewearbrands as an official recognized retailer so I figured that Ray Ban wouldn't want to risk their name and reputation by associating with a second rate company. Lets hope I'm right as i ordered a pair of RayBan aviators earlier today which were offered at a very good price (yes I know Alarm bells did ring but I cleverly ignored them). As I write I haven't had an email confirming order / delivery yet (unlike Shadestation (on same list on Ray Ban official site) who i also placed an order with exactly at the same time and for first time clicked on 'find these glasses cheaper? We'll match the price' (answer -yes) and no problem they matched the price!). Something tells me I'll get my glasses from Shadestation (I've used them before) in 48 hours - lets see what happens with my eyewearbrand order. I'll report back in case you're interested! (PS I collect sunglasses - I have over 70 pairs!)0

Hi this is Saturday Morning 1/8/15 and as predicted (see post above) I received my order from Shadestation (around 48 hours from initial order) Beautifully packaged plus 2 sweets (unnecessary but shows some customer care thought).
Remember, see post above - I ordered another pair of Raybans from eyewaearbrands - apparently in stock, at exactly the same time as my order with shadestation. Any acknowledgement (let alone a delivered order) from Eyewearbrands? Nothing, nada, - Any update in my Account? no nothing - apart from taking my money with alacrity - no slovenliness from that dept of course - no mistakes there then? no, 'we forgot to take your money'? er no.! I don't know who owns the company but I'd sack the customer service manager - clearly they have no idea what its like to be a customer!! - perhaps they should headhunt shadestation's who know exactly how to run a customer oriented service. yes I'm p
ed off! I'll keep you updated with either positive or negative news - don't hold your breath though. (and no I don't know anybody or have ever spoke to anyone associated with shade station!!! ) If by the way I receive my glasses from eyewearbrands within the next couple of days - ok lets say 8 days past initial order - I'll come straight back on and apologise and retract these comments!0 -
Fraser can you provide a link to where it says on the ray ban site eyewearbands are a recognised retailer ?0

Hi, I posted a reply earlier but for some reason nothing shows! I don't think I said anything particularly awful!! Was it because I entered a web site address perhaps? Anyway regarding your request just type in 'Ray Ban store locator' in search engine and it comes up either first or second in list of sites and you'll see it on left hand side with heading 'Ray Ban authorized shop in shop', along side about 5 other companies. Hope that helps you.
If I get pleasantly surprised over next day or so, (regarding delivery of my sunglasses) I probably have jumped the gun and would apologise and retract my criticism.0 -

No I can't see it your reply not here because you entered a web addresx, maybe you didn't click submit reply.0 -
Hi, I've just discovered I'm not allowed to post with links as a new user! The web site address is easy to find by typing in Ray Ban store locator in google and once you are at the page the names of authorized sellers are right in front of you on left hand side.
I do wonder how much effort Luxottica do to protect their brand by actually 'buying' one of their products anonymously from their 'representatives' in effect to see whether the service given complements or damages Ray Ban's name. They might find some surprising results!0 -

I have just received an email from eyewearbrands saying they are in the process of 'acquiring my frames'. My heart sank. I wasn't sure what 'acquiring' entailed as their web page said 2 remaining in stock or low stock but inference was that they were still in stock when I ordered. Fair do's I got straight through to a customer service person who confirmed they were coming from their distributor and that 7-10 days delivery was quoted on their site.
I'm concerned that this stock may be coming from China or Far East as I can't quite work out in this day and age why it would take so long? An electronic order - seconds - paid for in seconds - distributor could be automatically informed in seconds - an efficient distributor could mail within 12 hours - why 10 days? I'll keep you posted -0 -
I know i digress slightly but being a cheapskate, i cannot fathom why anyone would pay a small fortune for glasses whos greatest quality is a name stamped on them. For all us fellow cheapskates who want stylish sunnies that are tough and manufactured to stringent standards may i direct you to bolle safety eyewear as available on screwfix..
http://www.screwfix.com/c/safety-workwear/safety-glasses/cat850392#category=cat850392&brand=bolleFeudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
You're quite right Bolle (and many others such as Julbo) make very good glasses all much cheaper. The fascinating thing is that our conscious mind can fully understand the game, but branding targets the other hemisphere that is all powerful, but once our critical faculty has been bypassed, is gullible (every despot and dictator & advertizer knows this fact). But its not as eye watering as paying $163,000,000 for a paint drip painting by Jackson Pollack. I did a very passable paint drip painting once, but had to rush the end as it was break time at school. Still waiting for news on my eyewearbrand order though!
I reread the part in 'Delivery' on their website again after the customer service person was a tad peeved when i had the temerity to enquire about delivery times - its worded and I quote 'For certain frames and more complex lenses, manufacture/dispatch can take up to 7 to 10 working days' ! I don't think it unreasonable for me to assume that that description wouldn't apply to standard sunglasses in stock from an authorized dealer!!!0
