    As a VIP is coming next Monday I am finally motivated.

    Have chosen tasks in order of priority to break the job down.

    Today my tasks are;

    Ebay books
    Ebay shoes
    Sort Clothes
    Clear most obvious obstructions in the areas VIP will be.

    It does not sound like much but I have alot of stuff so it is and on top of all the other stuff I have to do. Feeling under pressure.

    Whatever does not get ebayed there is a chain of donations lined up.

    Tip (if you are in the same situation as myself) - I have recently discovered that if I ask my husband to make "more floor space" things are miraculously tidied up, sorted out and yes there is more floor space making our home feel more spacious. I think maybe he has not understood "tidy" all these years but grasps the concept of "more floor space". I shall have to ask again in another room and see if it works again.

    The procrastination was helped by a VIP visit and "more floor space" has also helped to stop it. I now have to do the rounds, clearing as I go which is helping.
  • good luck with getting organised as everyone says small steps thinking of everything that needs to be done is just too much deal with small things one at a time its surprising how quick they add up and make a difference. One thing is as you get some parts of the House organised remember to keep on top of them so they don't get back to how they where when you are busy sorting the rest spend 30-60 minutes a day going over the areas you have already done to keep them like that.

    I have just been reading the The KonMarie method thread.

    Is there a starting point to kickstarting a whirlwind of activity for this procrastinator?

    I really don't want to buy the book but so what is the basic checklist that she talks about? I have tried to look in the thread without reading the whole thing or the book -no time.

    I really don't want to get into folding stuff creating more work!

    I have been tidying all my stuff into categories but this means going the round the house picking as many things as I can that are out of place and putting them in their rightful home. So going round and round like a hamster all week. This whole idea of never having to tidying again doesn't work for me because it's the maintenance that is continual work!

    I have one snow drift of ebaying items which I will start using up my free allowance of listings on ebay then if not gone by Easter will do a carboot and still not gone will go to charity.
